  • Hope everyone has a happy Christmas

    Kay Chamberlain|Dec 22, 2022

BEEN COLD--I hope you survived the arctic blast that we had last week, as it certainly was chilly around these parts. Those low 20 degree temperatures certainly make my ole bones ache, along with making those roads slick with ice and heavy frost. By the time you read this, we may have already had another round of freezing temps and even some snow, but with ever changing weather models, I guess we will just have to wait and see what we get. Personally, I’d just as soon not have a white Christmas as I know a lot of folks are traveling over the h...

  • Downriver Dispatches

    Karen Bertroch|Dec 22, 2022

Christmas time can be intense. Just finding time to shop, decorate, pick up family members at the airport, make cookies, attend seasonal services or events, hosting family who've come to stay, seating family members at the table so there are no arguments, or adjusting to new grandchildren or marriage partners and other changes each year, can be tiring and emotional. And then we add in the deaths at Christmas. My Aunt Hattie died on November 27 this year, at age 97. She has been in contact with...

  • Only 10 days left until Christmas

    Kay Chamberlain|Dec 15, 2022

BRACED FOR COLD?--According to the current forecast on my weather app, it appears we’re in for quite a cold stretch and even a chance of snow on Sunday, so I hope you’re ready for possible snowy or icy conditions in the coming days! It was about 1889.
